Weekend Round-up: Alleys and Quarries and Parks—Oh My!

Jul 29, 2019 2:58:09 PM

Monday is here again, and so our weekly weekend round-up returns! Read on to hear how our students kept busy during this hot weekend, and as always, there are more photos on our Flickr!

Friday night brought our students to Spare Time Northampton to enjoy a night of bowling and arcade games!

The Experimentory drank in the Saturday sun at the Brownstone Exploration & Discovery Park in Portland, CT. In a brownstone quarry-cum-lake, students swam, played on giant inflatables, jumped off twenty-foot cliffs, and rode many of the parks 11 zip lines (the longest of which is 780 ft. from the top of a six-story gorge). Get a taste of the water in the pictures below. But first, check out this video from our media manager to get a “Ben’s-eye-view” of the day!

After our students returned from Brownstone, water-logged and sun-sapped, they got cleaned up and gussied up for the “Dancing with the Stars” dance under the Koch Starfield, decorated and DJ-ed by the Activities Assistants.

Rounding out the weekend, the Experimentory traveled back to Northampton to spend the afternoon at Look Memorial Park. In its sprawling 150 acres, the park contains a water pray park, pedal boats, a petting zoo, and a steamer train that travels around the grounds. Dining Hall staff from Deerfield graciously came with us and prepared a cookout!

Here’s to another great weekend, and a great final week ahead!
